Ohio Business Forms - Version 3 (OBF3) can be thought of as the Ohio Secretary of State's business forms on steroids. This set of super-forms have several important advantages:

1. All the forms in OBF3 are linked. That means you won't be entering the same information multiple times on different forms. By eliminating redundant typing like retyping the name of the corporation or its charter number on the same or different forms, you save time and eliminate errors. This is sometimes a fault with templates or scripts that may be able to work across a form, but not multiple forms; and

2. One client file. OBF3 saves all your client information in one file―hundreds of pages of it. Compare freely distributed pdf forms that are available from the Secretary of State's office. Here's the warning you'll receive: "Please Note: You cannot save a completed copy of this form on your computer. If you would like a copy for your records, please fill it in and print it." While this may be tolerable for non-professionals, this drawback is unacceptable for law offices that make form-filling a vital part of their business.

3. Quick and easy changes and corrections. A corollary of the inability to save files that is characteristic of PDF files is that if you discover an error after you've printed the form and closed the PDF page is that you must retype the entire page again! This is not true with OBF3. It allows you to make changes and corrections easily. No messy whiteout or fixing on a typewriter. Just reopen your client file, fix or change only the part you want, and print. Done!

4. Program vs. script/templates. OBF3 is a genuine application, not a script or template. What's the difference? Well, a true computer program runs by itself without requiring you to purchase other expensive software to make it work, i.e., HotDocs. Also, there are no "subscription" fees. Prior owners of OBF went over 5 years with free updates.

• Windows & Mac. OBF3 is compatible with Windows10, Windows 8, Windows 7, and Vista. OBF3 is also available for Mac computers running OSX Version 10.8 and higher.
  
• Persistent file storage. OBF3 saves files as sets of forms related to a client, not as single documents like a pdf or word processing file. That means repetitive information not only transfers within a form, but also between different forms. Persistent file storage also means that all your documents with respect to that client are in one file in one place. Easy to find, easy to use, easy to back up.
  
• Exports all forms to your word processor. OBF3 can send its output to your word processor where you can edit forms any way you want, even making changes to the forms themselves. Printing, faxing, emailing, or making PDFs is simple. Note that PDF-making functionality is dependent on your word processor.
  
• Network Versions Available at big discounts. Everyone in the office can share the same set of files and backups can be performed from one location.
  
• No Annual Subscription Fees. Future upgrades are downloaded and installed automatically. All upgrades are free until the issuance of a major revision which, historically, has been about once every 5 years.
• Internet access doesn't matter. Don't worry if your ISP or Internet connection is less than reliable. You'll never be locked out because your connection is down.
